    That is what we call a SUNDOG.
    Arla what's that? - I've seen something like it which I understood to be ice clouds in the upper atmosphere filtering the suns rays (ie colours) onto clouds at a lower level, first time it was ever seen in our area people were calling into radios shows and newspapers reporting UFO's!!!!! - I have a pic somewhere - I'll dig it out
