GAMERA: Guardian of the Universe (1995)

Guardian of the Universe by ChicagoJohn, on Flickr

We were dealing here with a FLAG ... a FLAG of Earth Day... a FLAG.... for a background with a snoot strobe on it and our pet tortoise, Ball, a Testudo ibera gamera, as the actor in this little script.

I put Ball on a pedistal and tryed to direct him. But this was to no avail. So then I decided to quote some lines spoken by Andre Greggory in the Movie My Dinner With Andre (1981) where he quotes Stanislovsky:

Stanislavsky said the actor should constantly ask himself as a character: "Who am I? Why am I here? Where do I come from? And where am I going?"

And after that, Ball seemed to do much more better in his role in the photoshoot

OK, well, I guess this will have to be my last post of the day since wifey has dictated that we go out to eat... at the expense of my photography, I said; to no avail.

So this is my last one today, and if George decides to terminate the Flag thread, that will be OK since the next one I had in mind would work equally well here.

    Oh, I forgot....

    postscript

if an electrician or anyone else wishes to point out that the vases in the background are upside down, I just want to preempt that comment by saying that this symbolism of inverted or spilled vases references death.

And you may know that the scene I am emulating, however poorly, in this picture, is what transpires just prior to the Don's ultimate demise.

So I just wanted to put that out there now, so I wouldn't have to explain it later.
