This week's theme is: "In the Eye of the Beholder"
I am not sure I can follow the success of the last theme but here goes ..... in the last few weeks with my adventures in the world of Ocular surgery I realised how important eyes are and feel blessed that my recent operation has appeared to go well, so to commorate the fact I am setting EYES as this weeks theme.
...... BUT HOLD ON THERE, "Oh no we are all going to be bombarded with pages of eyeballs staring at us" I can hear you all saying .... well not quite because I am throwing this out to anything eye related, so here is a list of ideas to inspire you.
1. Eyes, well of course but let's include that with an emotion so lets see a little more of the face with the eyes being the main focus. (Pun not intended)
2. Any image that represents a song title using the word eye or eyes, remember to tell us which song.
3. Any image that represents a film title, book title, play or poem using the word eye or eyes, again tell us which one. If you have an image of a band called "Johnny One Eye and His Nose Pickers" then lets see them.
4 Any image that could represent a saying or quote using the word eyes or eye.
OK I think that gives you the idea, hopefully the scope should be wide enough to satisfy everyone and produce a good variety of images and hopefully some lateral thinking, remember the themes are intended as fun and not a challenge but hopefully will inspire you to take something new.
*Please note that there is a TWO image limit, in this thread only but feel free to post as often as you wish.****
OK I'll get us off as usual with a new image taken yesterday when Brendan came, he found great amusement in playing in a cardboard box I had saved for him. Well that was until he was laid in it with the flaps closed and I said to his Mom "OK get the tape, lets get this to the post pffice and sent to Australia" - here we see the shock / horror as he popped out of the box. This was followed by quite a flood of tears - BAD GRANDPA

PHOTO EDITING OK
I have a fundamental semantic problem with this thread, but I have resolved it.
It can be interpreted in two ways at least, maybe more. (1) as shown in the images already posted, "the eye of the beholder" could be the eye of the beholder of the camera that is taking the image of the subject beholding it; and (2) the "eye of the beholder" could be the implicit eye of some sentient being in the process of beholding something.
Not sure, at this juncture, whether I can conceive a way for the assignment to include the photographer's eye as that of the beholder, because that would allow in any and every image and defeat the whole purpose of the thread.
So I would say we can assess the images as "category 1" or "category 2", the eye of the beholder of the camera, or the eye of a being observing something else, captured by the camera. And with that distinction, I can proceed with this thread.
Here's my first emotion through the eyes.. even tough it's been played with PS, we can definitely see the emotion! Scared face by melboutchou, on Flickr
