    I like the composition of #2. You might even try this as a black & white with a good contrasty sky.

    All of these shots are weak, in terms of no real centre of interest with visual impact. Number 2 is the best in terms of the path leading into the image but your mistake was in exposing for the sky rather than the foreground. Possible solution is selectively improving the foreground exposure in postprocessing. Did you consider doing that?
