    PHOTO EDITING NOT OK
My wife went to NYC last week. I told her she had to go by B&H and get her photo taken holding the used 1200mm lens they have on sale for $99,000. She went to B&H but just bought a couple of filters. The 1200mm didn't intrigue her - maybe bigger and longer is "man thing".

I will anxiously await pictures of you with the lens. I think that I read somewhere that it took 18 months to build the lens, they produced about 2/year, and the closest focus length was over 250'. I don't know why I'm so fascinated with it. I'm taking pictures of grass from 10' away. The only use it would get from me is to hack thru the brush.

What I heard is that they were sold to Sports Illustrated, National Geographic, and a few well-heeled individuals.

This is from a UK Mag....The price? A mere 15,999.99!
Wow! They're discounting it already. Sigma's web site has it down with an RRP of 16,999.99.

To be honest I wouldn't give you a thank you for it. Too bulky and too heavy. I really do wonder what Sigma think their market for this lens is.
