Learning how to use my Lumix GF2
Hi all,
I moved up in the world and moved from a point-and-shoot digital (have had four, started in 2000) to a Panasonic 4/3 camera -- Lumix GF2.
I have a lot to learn, just found this forum, and this summer I will have to read as much as I can on it.
I have figured out the basic functions, and have been basically been using the GF2 as a point-and-shoot since buying it. Also have figured out zoom, flash, self-timer, etc. -- basic functions. I'm very happy with the photo quality, and the touch-screen! I've learned (somewhat) how to use the touch-screen to tell the camera where to focus. As for lighting, I have my good days and my bad days and about half the time, I am not setting the camera properly for the level of light that is there.
Would really like to learn how to use the cool stuff on this camera. Unfortunately I don't learn easily by reading the sites written by the professionals. Most of it I find to be too technical for my brain... the jargon, the understanding just eludes me.
Hoping I can find someone on here who has a GF-series camera (or any digital that's similar) and can write back with just some basic, fun things to try out, one step at a time.
Thank you!

You've learned the basic functions but have you learned all of the functions? Have you read the manual to learn what your camera will do? We all know that's the last thing most camera owners do, but it pays off. When you know your camera inside-out, then go to town and practice on anything you like. Unlike film, it's not going to cost you anything for junk photos, so take lots of 'em! Fun is where you find or create it.
I wish you luck... Lumix is a great camera. I as well don't learn from reading, my mind doesn't keep up with my eyes. So what you can try, is looking up camera specific tips and searches on youtube. You'd be surprised how many people have tutorials out there. Good luck again.

Thanks for the tips and the compliment, I really do like this camera.
I didn't think to check for YouTube tutorials. I'll look into that tonight!
Thanks for sharing this informative tips.
