There is something about her pose and expression.

    I love it, too.

Your mom looks like a hip cool mom
Love the photo and the grainy look.
You need to ask her to do more photo shoots for you.

She has every appearance of being deep in thought-not posed at all! Really is a nice shot.

You need to use her more as a model, I love the reflective mood...

    Yes, I love the expression!

And, even though it would be good completely sharp and with less grain, I think the slight blur adds a nice effect.
I don't know how to say it, it makes it more original, the contrast and the fact that it's black & white also work out nicely.

If the fuzziness was a mistake - it works - adds to the reflective mood of the image - lets see more of Mom

I have to agree with everyone else. I love the look of this photo. For me, if it was sharp, it wouldn't have the same feel. You look a lot like her from what I can tell. She is very pretty.

My desire in photography is to capture the essence of life, to make others catch their breath at the purity of the moment captured, I'm still working on that.

Yeah, I was just wondering, is there something foreign (other than American) in your family, or am I just making that up?

Wow, thanks everyone. Honestly, your words really mean so so so much to me.

I'm glad you all like the fuzziness because I, too, thought it added to the feeling of the picture.

This was a candid shot, she hates to be photographed. TRUST ME! I've tried soooo many times to get her to model for me, and she lets me sketch her all the time, but for some reason, she hates being photographed.

    --I'LL KEEP TRYING

Damage Inc, yes, my mom is Italian Russian and Polish, and my dad is 100% Colombian, so i'm a mixture of a lot of things.

    Thank you SO MUCH everyone!
