    This was my very first night (June 30th) of attempting to capture lightning. I wasn't to technical about it, just hoping to get one at all. Need some practice, but I'm just so damn excited that now I know how to get it.

    Nice job- you didn't give in to the temptation to shoot a high ISO and wide open aperture!

    Just for grins, did you try cropping most of the tree on the left? It's just a big black area that doesn't add a lot to the photo, but that's just me. Great shot though, I like how you got some color in the sky.

    Thanks Penguin, here it is cropped.
    f/22 iso-200 held open for 10sec.
    (and no tri-pod, this was resting on my knee)
