Hey DW, glad to answer your questions here.
The resize of photos was just an out there question, I also know that it isn't a good option here.
Now about the free storage. (Also explained in the FAQ's)
You get initially 10MB of free space once you are accepted as a seller. As your images are uploaded at low res (they request that) max of 500px size and saved at a 7 (medium) quality, you can actually have 200 photos free to upload. Then, as they asses the photos, if you have photos that are ranked 8 or above, (outstanding and "wow") you will get allocated more space. So if all your photos are outstanding, you can have an unlimited amount of space on their server.
In regards to sales, like I said, I just joined a week and a half ago, and only uploaded 25 photos up to now, so with the holiday period and all that, I didn't have a sale yet, so nothing to show for that.
Payment, will be made directly to you by buyers, after which you pay your commission of 20% to PD. Now it is up to you and the buyer to negotiate the price and the payment method I believe.
It does help, like with all sites of this nature, to read thoroughly the FAQ and all the help pages before signing up to anything. Also I have to mention, as they do, you WILL NOT be accepted to PD if you are a member of any of the microstock sites out there.
Finally, Happy New Year to you too, and thanks for putting my name down, although that does nothing to me as a seller, it works only with buyers on this site.
Cheers!

Hey Grono... Thanks for all the info! It really helped me out!
I was sad to hear that you cannot be a member of other microstock websites.. That kind of s*cks! I'm a member on a few websites and just signed up for Photoshelter (only got 27 images so far.. but I have almost 300 waiting inspection) and they seem to pay out well.. Just hope the sales are good!
Anyway.. Thanks A LOT!!
Happy New Year to you all!!!
I have about 850 images up with Alamy now. Didn't make my resolution to break 1000 by the New Year.. oh well.
At the time my photo was purchased, I only had maybe 200 images up, and a majority of that was only up a short while. The image that sold was from my very first upload submission (I had maybe 75 shots online that had to be submitted via snail mail on a DVD). I guess that would put the upload around late July 07, the QC clearance around August, and the sale in December. Not too bad considering there's over 10 million images.
I've got another 100 images prepped, and about 300 waiting keywording and such. I should break 1000 pretty soon.
Just want to say Hi. I have been lurking around here for a while now and just want to say thanks for the information I have attained. I just finished joining Alamy and I hope to have my first batch of images scaned and submitted by the end of the weekend. I still shoot filmIt's a great feeling having the chance to re-start my photography business again. I do own a 1 man Carpentry business so I do have some $$$ comming in
Theres nothing like taking baby steps as I approach turning 50

Hey guys... thanks for the replies..
I'm still not too keen about Alamy but never mind..
I got some good news... I have just gotten the About Stock Photo Multi Agency Search up and running (and we can work on the title later)!
Have a look and please DO let me know what you think!

I did a search for "crocodile", and this is what I got:
"Search results for "crocodile" on:
• Dreamstime
• iStockphoto
• Shutterstock
123 Royalty Free
Acclaim Images
Alamy..."
Now why are the first three bold and placed first?
Would it be possible to include a column that shows how many crocodile pictures are found in each website?
Overall, it looks like a fantastic start to a great idea!![]()
Hey kennys
Sorry for the late reply.
I've put iStock, Dreamstime and Shutterstock first because they are th eones with the most results... They are the top websites on the microstock market.
I will eventually add the number of results but that will take a whie.. I'm no programing expert!
I'll keep updating the site whenever possible!
Happy selling!![]()
