Yes, I know, it's a tad on the dark side and maybe it's too tightly cropped.

Well...it was difficult to shoot, I took a number of shots and this was the best one.

However, the petal on the left (@ 8 o'clock) was right (well, left, actually...) at the edge of the frame, so I wanted to tightly crop the rest of it to match.

The exposure was actually a lot brighter than I have rendered here, but I darkened this cos I wanted more saturation/feeling/atmosphere.

It looks good, Bert. I like the subdued leafy background.

I already knew what "bleaching" meant and I'm glad Xiu brought it up. If I had posted that comment about "no such thing as bleaching," in such huge text, and then found out I was wrong, I'd be so embarrassed that I'd have to go and delete it. When we're not sure about something, we really ought to do a bit of research before we become so verbose.

Some folks are inebriated with the exuberance of their own verbosity!

Hey are you looking over my shoulder bert, did some edits yesterday... hang on just realised you posted this the day before, so I might be the one looking over your shoulder, anyway I too was looking to make it darker, but also wanted to keep certain parts light to emphasis a particular area, Ill size them up today and post them. Need to get some breakfast down my neck first etc.
I like it the purple and dark foliage work well together and I think the crop suits it
