    I love this statue, it's so classical. Mostly I have cat statues in my yard, but I imagine she was much more expensive than my cats.

    Nice! And what a beautiful stand of hosta. Seems a little yellow, though - I wonder if you couldn't push your yellows a little toward green?

    Thanks for the tip on that. Sometimes when I've looked at my own photos for so long through the editing process, I sometimes miss the obvious.

    I didn't see the originals...

    These are lovely. Can't put my finger on it but I prefer the portrait shot...

    BTW I've never seen hostas in the wild before-they're an expensive plant on this side of the pond

    Karin: I boo-boo'd and took my bad photos off flickr not realizing it would affect this thread until it was too late. These hostas aren't really in the wild, it's part of a metropark garden and I'm sure they were planted at some point, but they've been here for years. They're absolutely huge and extend beyond the statue about 30' into the woods. Hostas are pricy here too, but not too bad if you just buy starts. I wish I had more room for the really big ones.

    And Karin, they are really easy to separate and divide once you get a good start.
