    I had never heard of the orton effect, before you just mentioned it to me. Actually I am quite new to HDR, but all I did was merged 4 images using photoshop, and then used the photomatix plugin for tone mapping.

    They do look like orton effect, ... but with the hdr they also look a bit grungy [meaning lots of gray around the red petals].

    Overall I like the composition and the softness. A beautiful bouquet.
