    my photo, from earlier today at my parents' place..

    i was waiting to see if either the hummingbirds or the gold finches would be the first to arrive at the feeders, and spotted this little guy keeping his eye out for ME.

    his red throat really stood out, but he's so tiny it was almost impossible to see him in the branches of the pine tree!

    Last night, on the way home from work - it was a hot day, even for geese!
