Mission Orange Game
Then keep reading...
"Azure" magazine in the Land of Atlantis is seeking images containing the color blue for its next Special Edition. That's the COLOR blue, not the feeling or the suggestive definition. And because Atlantis is underwater, they have appointed me (Haraldo) as their landbased scout to request images from multiple sources for consideration. And as they speak a special language (which I have learned), I may pass on their comments and opinions to help guide you.
Your assignment, should you choose to accept it, it to show us your images that celebrate the color blue in all its beauty and variations. Show us the Best of the Blues! (NOTE: Unlike the original Mission Orange, this is not a boardgame or contest, just upload your images in the normal way.)
Categories: All categories of Blue are welcome (nature, landscape, people, abstract, sports, et al.). Underwater images are accepted but not required.
Submissions: per usual PF guidelines, 2 images per post max. And let others have a turn after you post.
Accompanying Text: As the images of your world will need some explanation to Atlantians, please include any insights, history, methods, or thoughts about how, why, when, where, who, and what your images are about. These may end up as captions or text in the article.
Deadline: None; this is an open-ended Mission. Azure is always seeking good photos of Blue.
Awards & Prizes: In addition to the enormous prestige of having your images published in Azure, which is required reading of all citizens of Atlantis (it's a "delphinic dictatorship"), the top submitter will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Atlantis to tour the offices of Azure magazine. Breathing equipment is your own responsibility.
So who will embark upon this mission to have your images potentially displayed to the citizens of Atlantis, who are well-known for their artistic, cultural, and spiritual abilities? Show us your Blues!
Good luck!
Haraldo
P.S. I'm also scouting Blue images on Phoozl but it doesn't have instant uploads like here. This is where I expect to see some GREAT BLUE PHOTOS!

Wow Don! Atlantians have never seen anything like this. I've been asked by Atlor, Creative Director of Azure Magazine, to commuicate to you that while they have been known to breach the surface of the water (although this has never been photographically verified), the concept of flying about in the air... and in glossy blue mechanical devices (airplanes) is amazing to them. Great submissions!

.. Thank you oh kind sir'
.. HAIL ATLANTIS !
The continent of Atlantis was an island
Which lay before the great flood
In the area we now call the Atlantic Ocean.
So great an area of land, that from her western shores
Those beautiful sailors journeyed to the South
And the North Americas with ease
In their ships with painted sails.
To the east, Africa was a neighbor,
Across a short strait of sea miles.
The great Egyptian age is but a remnant
Of the Atlantian culture.
The antediluvian kings colonized the world;
All the Gods who play in the mythological dramas
In all legends from all lands were from fair Atlantis.
Knowing her fate, Atlantis sent out ships to all corners of the Earth.
On board were the Twelve:
The poet, the physician, the farmer, the scientist, the magician,
And the other so-called Gods of our legends,
Though Gods they were.
And as the elders of our time choose to remain blind,
Let us rejoice and let us sing and dance and ring in the new . . .
Hail Atlantis!
Way down below the ocean, where I wanna be, she may be . . .

OMG... Don, whose namesake is the One musician all Atlantians know, has touched the heart of Atlor to a great depth. All Atlantians worship the One, and his words are inscribed on their Atlo currency:
"Way down below the ocean, where I wanna be, she may be . . ."
So who's got some more Blues before Don and I start weeping Baby Boomer tears?

Excellent Mission Blue image, GD! And your explanatory text is very useful for Azure editors. Atlantians know about undersea mountains but only have legends and old histories about terrestrial ones (they have been under the sea for a long, long time), so this is very insightful. I gave Atlor a preview of this image, and he was astounded. "You have blue mountains? We thought only our mountains were blue. And Mr. Grandpa Dane's note of wavelike formations is certainly not unappreciated by us down here."
Atlor then asked if I had any images to submit. Although I am not eligible for the Mission Blue prizes (their rules), here is one I have not posted in full size yet. This is also one of Atlor's favorites. He explained to me that they also have swimming pools but they are the reverse of what we have here: there are basically terrariums full of only land! Strange, eh?

So who has more Blues for Atlor and the Atlantians?
Hmmm...

Thank you, Susan05, for your explanation and for joining Mission Blue. We're honored to have your first post be here. Do you have any Blue images to share?
