    I thought it might be fun to create a thread dedicated to the question "Can you guess what this is?"

    I'm sure that some of us have photographed something that needs further explination when showing the photo to others...

    Whether the item is really obscure, you've done a macro of part of an object, or you've taken the photo from an angle (or a zoom) or you cropped it where only part of the object shows, etc...

    Anything that makes someone say "what is that???" or "where were you when you took this??"

    If any of you have anything like this please feel free to add your own - that's what this thread is all about! I love a good puzzle to try to figure out what something is!



    I got the idea for this when I was looking at the following 2 photos I took. I realized they may require some explanation to someone who doesn't see them in context with all of the other photos:

    It's the BROOKLYN BRIDGE and I shot directly up one of the cables to the top. It looks like such a short distance to the top but it's really so far...I loved the effect
