I love the car but there's too much happening around it. One of the main challenges I've had in shooting relatively large objects in a museum environment is is isolating the object in a cluttered background. But, given that, there are no easy solutions. On an object this size, you can't use depth of field. I shoot in several aircraft museums, which tend to be very crowded, and have come up with 2 solutions that work on occasion.

Sometimes I'll do a close up (or crop) of only a limited area of the object. Another thing that works sometime is to use Photoshop (or equivalent) to de-emphasize the background. You can B&W, darken, blur or some combo while leaving your object as shot.

Edit: You say editing OK so I did a very quick modification to illustrate. Now the cars shows and the rest is background.

Below that an example of reducing surrounding clutter by getting close. (with an HDR shot)

This looks like it was shot at the The Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn... which is about a mile away from my house. I hadn't realized they reopened the car exhibit. (They had closed it last year to completely rework that particular exhibit and the last I heard it hadn't been reopened yet, but I haven't been inside the museum in a few months.)

So... I did some digging. For those who want the trivia on this.

First, yes it is at The Henry Ford Museum. I recognized the the floor and the columns and train in the background, so I checked the Flickr group (there's a group just for photos of shots taken at the Henry Ford museum & village) and the car appears in it.

Second, the car is a 1931 Bugatti Royale, it's particularly rare. This car is estimated to be worth (make sure you're sitting down) about $10,000,000. I'm thinking you probably wouldn't be loaning this particular car to your teenager to take on a date.

beautiful car but background is distracting and too many reflections. maybe an edit to remove reflections and lighten and blur just a bit of the bg. something like this.

    I like the pic.

It all looks metallic like the car, but the HDR makes it look like it was airbrushed.

    Nice work.

In fact, it's so good - the car looks like ten million dollars
