Well, it does require equipment and the related skills including a tilt-shift lens, panoramas, virtual tours, HDR, lights, strobes, use of distortion correction software such as DX0 etc.

    "define"? Pictures of buildings.

"so unique"? I think in all photography one uses equipment and techniques that are tailored to the subject.

"specialist"? One can be either a photographer who understands architecture, or an architect who understands photography.

I'd say architecture, especially interiors requires a specialist. Not too hard to learn tho

Of-course it requires particular expertise and it is needed to follow some specific guidelines to be a good architecture photographer. You can check out this post for more details A Guide to Architectural Photography | Photography Mad

    Architectural photography

Architectural photography is the photographing of buildings and similar structures that are both aesthetically gratifying and accurate representations of their subjects. Architectural photographers are usually skilled in the use of specialized techniques and equipment.

Hey guys when responding to posts check out the date of them. This was asked over 4 years ago by some interloper who joined up and asked one question and left, never to return.
