FORUM RULES

We at PhotoForum.com are delighted to have you on our site. We want you to enjoy yourselves and share your wealth of information with us.

However, we do have some basic rules.

1. NO SWEARING
Pretty self explanatory. We don't like it, it's not needed and it really doesn't look very good. If you can't make a point without using a swear word, don't make your point. Any posts found that contain swearing will be removed.

2. NO INSULTING OTHER USERS
We are all here because of our love for photography.
Some of us have different levels of experience, some have different views. It's okay to have a difference of opinion, but there's no need to get personal over it.
Being rude to other members is not acceptable, and may result in your account being revoked.

3. PLEASE REFRAIN FROM DISCUSSING POLITICS OR RELIGION

4. ATTITUDE TOWARDS MODERATORS AND ADMINISTRATORS
Disrespectful attitude towards Moderators and Administrators will not be tolerated.

5. NO MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS
Only one account per person is allowed.

6. NO "INVITES"
Sending private messages to members asking them to "check out" or join another site/forum is grounds for immediate and permanent revocation of membership.

7. POSTING
The photo must be your own original work.
You may not re-post other members' photos without permission.
Photos: max 1024 pixels longest side, max 450Kb per photo. 5 photos per post maximum.
Make sure that you are posting in the correct section and discussion thread of the forum.
Posts made for the sole purpose of increasing your post count will result in your account being suspended.

8. PHOTO EDITING PERMISSION
PHOTO EDITING OK option under your avatar means that other members are allowed to alter your photos.
PHOTO EDITING NOT OK option under your avatar means that other members are NOT allowed to alter your photos.

If neither option is selected, the members may not edit your photo.

9. THREAD HIJACKING
Thread hijacking is strongly discouraged.
Thread hijacking is the derailing of a thread's original topic and the development of a new topic within the same thread. While it is true that many topics will naturally go off-topic after a while, please respect attempts to keep a thread on-topic. If the new topic is of sufficient interest, start a new thread instead. Moderators may remove off-topic posts, create a new thread with off-topic posts, or remind offending members to stay on topic.

In the PHOTO GALLERIES section, Do NOT post your photos in someone else's thread without their permission.
To allow others to post photos in your thread (topic), select this icon in your new topic.

10. POSTING EXTERNAL WEBSITES
You can advertise your personal photography website in the "Your Website" section or/and in the Photography Directory. Promoting other photography communities or photography related forums (or any forum that resembles the structure and/or content of PhotoForum.com) in your posts, signatures, or in any way on the forum is not permitted and may result in termination of membership.
Links to non-photography related sites in your signature are not allowed.

11. SPAM
On our forum, spam is defined as "intentional, unsolicited, blatant advertisements that have no relevance to photography."
Spamming the forum will result in a permanent ban.
Using Private Messaging as a marketing tool is strictly forbidden.
"Vote for me" posts will be seen as spam. Posts will be removed and the member will be banned.

12. SOFTWARE PIRACY
We do not condone or permit any kind of software, CD or DVD piracy or trafficking on this Board.

13. COPYRIGHT
Engaging in activities harmful to this forum will result in a permanent ban.
