Uploading and posting photos
I'm having problems uploading and posting images today. I read the FAQ Attachments and Images, and was able only to upload and post a small image. I wanted to post from Flickr but the url was not accepted by the Manage attachments box. Got the message "Invalid url" or similar. I tried three times today, checking that the url of the Flickr photo was correct. I then tried putting [img] etc on either side of the url, and this only resulted in a tiny grey box posted. Does Flickr not work with PF? If so, then please put this info in the FAQ in Attachments and Images.
Last night I was able to post a larger photo but I had to redo it several times and have now forgotten the final step, there were so many times.
I used to use Tinyurl, but they never accept new memberships, making it more difficult to use their service.

To share an image from Flickr
1) Open a new window or tab on your browser, go to Flickr and view the image you want to share.
2) Just above the image is a pull-down menu that says "Share" - click it.
3) This opens a menu that offers various methods to share. I think the default method is to "Grab the HTML/BBCode" - that's the option you want.
4) Below the image is a pull-down menu that lets you pick the size and also whether you want the HTML vs. the BBCode. Pick the size you want (small, medium, large, etc.) and make sure you selected the "BBCode" (not the HTML).
5) Now - just click in the box of code (above the box is reads "Copy and paste the code below". Usually just clicking on the code causes the entire contents of the box to highlight.
6) Copy the selection to your clipboard.
7) Meanwhile back here at PhotoForum... in your message composition window, just "paste" the text. When you post the message, that code will cause your image to be imbedded in the post.

Hi Tim, Thanks for your advice! But yesterday I tried exactly what you wrote, using the BBcode for the photo I wanted, and all that I got was the code copy in the preview of the post, not the photo. This was post #33 in Weekly Theme - "GREENS"
But I'll try again and see what happens.

Be sure it's using the "BBCode", not the "HTML".
