Higher voltage promaster battery for Canon Rebel t5i ?

I recently bought a replacement battery for my Canon REbel TSi. The replacement battery is a promaster LP-e8 with 7.4 volts, which is 2 volts higher than the previous promaster replacement battery I bought. Do you think this higher voltage will in any way affect the internal workings of my camera? I called Canon on this issue and the guy there said he just didn't know. He suggested I called promaster, who, we may all be assured, would give a totally honest view on the subject.
    Anyone have any thoughts?

    Thanks,

    Al Marotta
