I have thousands of slides and a flatbed scanner with a 35mm adapter but they are not great. Just looking for good quality screen size images using a Nikon D3200 with 24 Megapixels.

    Thanks

First photo is a 35mm image scanned on my flatbed scanner. Second photo is the same image scanned on a Professional Drum Scanner.

I have a similar duplicator that goes on my Nikon D7000. Works great. I paid $10 at a camera show.

You put a slide in the slide holder. Then move it so its in front of the lens. Point at the sky and take a photo of the slide. You can crop or go full frame. Its probably the best way to duplicate slides.

Well a photo of a slide. And since the gyzmo is attached to the camera its rock solid. If you have any old slides its worth having.

I would stick with the drum scanner.

Have you tried a slide copier that attaches to the camera body?

If you use a slide copier that attaches to the camera body with a crop sensor camera, you will need something like the Ohnar W-1337 which zooms from 0.6 to 1.6x. Otherwise you won't be able to get all of the slide in the image.
Try to keep the slides as dust free as possible before copying - it will save you a lot of time removing the marks on the copies afterwards.
