    Default d7000 Top LCD screen

I just got a d7000 yesterday, as an upgrade from the d7000. What I want to know is, When the camera is off, the top LCD screen still displays how many images are on the memory card, and which slot has a card in it, If you take the card out, it displays a E.. Is there a way to shut that off when the camera is off. Or does it have to remain on. And how much power does it consume with that info being displayed while the camera is off?

It always stays on. You can pull the batteries out if you don't want them to display, but they use such a small amount of power it's not worth it.
Sick of all the spam and advertising. I'm done here.

Thats just what i wanted to hear. Thanks for the quick response. I love this camera, quite the upgrade from the d5000. I still have and am going to use the d5k, as it has an awesome image sensor, but its night and day between the d7k and d5k
    Thanks again!
