Along time ago I used to develop my own B&W film and make prints.

After enjoying digital photography I am ready to go back to film and
recapture that depth of tone that I don't see in my digital shots.

But I have lost all my notes and can't remember developing times
    and dilutions.

    I didn't use a tank for developing 35mm film. I used a length of
1 1/4" plastic pipe, a little longer than a strip of film. The film strip
just fits into that size pipe and is held firmly while the pipe is capped
and developer is poured in and the pipe inverted. The bubble left in
the pipe washes the surface of the film each time the pipe is turned
end for end. This reduces the development time.

If anyone else has done this sharing their info would help me avoid
trashing the first few rolls of film until I get back into the routine.

After doing it this way I'll never go back to the hassle of tanks and reels.
