I doubt if the cut of nose is an automatic disqualifier, but it's probably not going to score well (sorry), unless something quite unusual was happening in the rest of the picture. As you know, judging is partially personal taste and that is probably were this picture will loose points.
I do understand how spur of the moment can cause less than ideal shots, but that's the nature of sports photography. On the other hand, a there's a lot of good sports photography taken everyday. Some of it due to great planning and tons of rapid sequential shots while a small part of the good images are shear luck. It's the nature of the beast.

i appreciate the input....it wasnt a make or break entry but something i had felt as you described, just wanted a solidified opinion from a qualified source......no sence in wasting their time for something thats riding on "borderline hope".........lol......ck
