For all you big lens boys and gals out there I just received this snippet from a friend in Canada who is usually very accurate with this sort of thing - so I thought I would pass it on.

DONT FORGET TO MARK YOUR CALENDAR FOR THE NIGHT OF 26
    AUG........

    Two moons on 27 August

27th Aug the day the Whole World is waiting for...

Planet Mars will be the brightest in the night sky starting
    August.

It will look as large as the full moon to the naked eye.

This will cultivate on Aug 27 when Mars comes within 34.65M
    miles of earth.

Be sure to watch the sky on Aug. 27 12:30 am.

It will look like the earth has 2 moons.

The next time Mars may come this close is in 2287.

Share this with your friends as NO ONE ALIVE TODAY will ever see
    it again.

    Wow! George,

    Never heard of this.

Will we get a good view in the UK (rain clouds permitting)?

Sorry guys it looks like a hoax - I'm gonna kill that Canadian (calm down Alex) - but I think he sent it genuinely. As photographers we all want it to be true

I kinda guessed it was a bit suspect.

Shame though! I can see us all up at silly oclock trying to find Mars lol
