hi all... no, i haven't dropped off the face of the earth, just been busy. just moved, and after living in a 3BR house for 23 years, it's tough to cram everything into a 2BR apartment! but, we managed, and it seems to be a fairly decent fit. had to get rid of a ton of *stuff*, though, most of which i didn't need and shoulda pitched years ago, so the move at least gave me an incentive to clean things up and "downsize" a bit...

haven't been out shooting much, because of the weather and the move, but hopefully will get out again soon once the weather improves.

i did get formally invited to hang some of my work in the storefront gallery of that art dealer in Scottsdale that i'm working with, so that's kinda cool... now just have to pick a few pieces to print large and send them! i think that will be a very good relationship for the future, so i want to really cultivate it and see where it leads...

also got an encouraging bit of news the other day... well, not really "encouraging" so much as "rewarding", but that's neither here nor there... anyway, i was notified that one of my images has been selected for inclusion in National Geographic's "image sales collection"... their version of stock photography. doesn't mean it will sell, of course, but just being chosen to be included is pretty cool as far as i'm concerned! if NG thinks it's good enough for them to offer for sale, hey... who am i to argue?

still haven't found a "day job" yet, though... getting pretty discouraged about that. it's been well over a year now, and i'm no closer to a paycheck than i was when i started! what i AM closer to is running out of unemployment benefits, which is worrisome, to say the least... once that's gone, the only thing i've got left is my retirement fund, which wasn't that big to begin with, and if i have to spend it to live on, i'll be working till i drop just to avoid living on Alpo!

anyway, that's that and there you are. nothing much else of consequence, just wanted to pop in and say hi...

    cheers,

Great to hear from you, Rocky, and congrats on inclusion in National Geographic's collection!
These are difficult times I hope things turn around for you soon.

I know what you mean about your stuff! Luckily, I've got two sheds and a larger-than-I-need garage- I've still got things in boxes in them from when I moved here almost three years ago.

That's great news about the gallery and Geographic! Congratulations Can you post the pictures here?
