    The Solstice Fairy (aka my big sister) heard me whining about my monitor meltdown, and so my stocking contained the fabulous HP flat-screen I so longed for ...

    The display was too light, so I thought, "OK. I'll adjust it. No biggy."

    Now, come to find out, I am even more visually challenged than I had realized. Or technically challenged? Or both? It's awful ... and I don't seem to be getting any closer to the correct solution.

    I guess I will wait for my young clear-eyed nephew's Christmas visit, and then try to persuade him to help me with it. So frustrating!

    What's happening when you adjust it? Is it still staying to bright? Maybe someone here can lens some advice about calibrating it?
