    I see these as really dark.

    The portrait looks pretty good.........dark though hard to see details
    Get OUT and SHOOT Y'ALL...........Sitting at the 'puter don't make better photos!!!!!!

    That maybe your computer, because they aren't as dark as you describe them.

    I agree. They're pretty dark. Might want to brighten them up a little bit so we can see some details.

    The portrait looks a lot better. The flowers are still a little dark but considering the title that might be the intention.

    Not sure if your using a monitor calibration device but for b&w the guide at the top of the post shows 26 distinct patches of white to black. I imagine on your monitor the left side of the guide looks like solid white until about e-f
    Hope that helps some.
