An afternoon with a green heron (8)

Found a couple of green herons at my favorite "bird park" this afternoon - first ones I've seen there in a couple of years. One of them flew over near one of the viewing platforms, and gave me about 2 hours' worth of goodies... caught several small fish and a dragonfly, spent some time stalking, preening, stretching, yawning, and generally going "greenie" stuff. I got a lot of good images from about 25 feet away, and had a wonderful afternoon photographing this little guy before he finally flew off around 7:15...

In a nutshell, I would just say that you have captured the bird moves as well actions previously and covered it beautifully.

    Thanks, guys!
Jack, the green herons can stretch their necks out about the length of their bodies. Like most herons, they hunt by stalking, waiting, and then striking like a snake to catch fish, tadpoles, frogs, dragonflies, etc.

We saw one in mexico years ago. It would take bread from my friend and then place it in the pond and wait for a fish to take the bait.
