I think they have you very well trained

You did well to get them as sharp as you have.

Taking photos that please me, but if you like them too then it's a bonus!

    Thanks Kiasmum!
They are very good at catching the treats on the wing, sharing isn't exactly on top of their list.
I'm still waiting to get a shot of these lovely birds, with my new camera, instead of with my mobile phone.

    (Rose-ringed or Ringnecked Parakeet ).
They are a pretty recent sight in our quite cold climate and seem to thrive here.
The picture above was taken in the same season as in this filmclip, they have set up house in the tree in the background of the filmclip.

I didn't take the camera along last saturday, because of lousy weather.
Something i regretted very much, when a buzzard flew over me quite low and started posing in a tree, with what i could have sworn was a very smug, gloating expression. :P
Like he/she was thinking, take a good look now...because you'll never see me do this when you have your camera with you.
Today the weather was quite better, and indeed,no buzzard in sight anywhere.
I did get some more shots of these rascals, hope you like.

    They're back!

Still looks out of place to me,i took the next shot seconds later standing in the exact same spot.

Would be nice if i got a few shots of some fluffy chicks in spring from this colourfull pair.

Winter has truly set in here, more snow is piling up as i type.

This one i liked for the 'expression' of the coot,to me it said something like.. What?!!

Hoping to get some closer(better) shots of buzzards,i see different individuals and one pair in 3 different areas i walk,so who knows...

No shortage of aquatic birds here in our wet little country.

The sparrows seem to be getting rare here sadly, but are replaced by Winter Wrens and these little beauties.

Can't wait till i finally win the lottery,i'm longing for some upgrades.

:P They do indeed! You better limit your excursions with them to Saturdays or they'll start dominating your life. We don't have Jackdaws here but they look like Ravens who are apparently less tame-able than Parrots but who are, according to Bernd Heinrich, not far behind Grey Parrots in intelligence (which puts them noticeably ahead of cats, 3 of which have had me well trained for longer than I want to admit). Speaking of Parrots, a couple of your pictures seem to be of them; or are they Jackdaws?

Fascinating series, Rincewind, and I love the snow shot.

    Thanks Marionet!
The jackdaws are one of the smallest of the Corvus-genus(crows+ravens) and are smart cookies indeed, great oppurtunists.
A woman i met while walking and who saw me taking pics of them, imparted to me the wisdom that they seem to be taking over the world.
While i suspect that to be somewhat overstated, they are thriving.

Cats are very good at training people of course, nice to see yours are doing well in that department. :P
I love Greebo out of the Discworld-series(also where i got the nick),a definite must read for SF/Humourfans.

The little green fellows are Ringnecked Parakeets, who are a fairly recent sight here in Holland, these are also doing very well, despite being tropical in origin.
Every year their number increases,,they are noisy buggers, but i just love the colours .

One more species of bird then, the European Magpie,it's hard to get a good shot of these, they seem to have an almost religous objection to having their picture taken,i was wondering if they are like that everywhere or if it's that just a local thing?

The geese have had enough of the snow and cold and are off to better climes, can't say i blame them.

I was alerted by some very distant but surprisingly audible honking.

The swans are giving it a few more days.
