A day-out on my friends sheep farm near Gorey, Co Wexford, Ireland. Dog fancies cockerel! Much lambing taking place - Pat tearing around doing good works. Boxplayer ps Lamb on mum's back - a bit blurred - did'nt want to go too close - used a lot of telephoto - got the essence though!

    Mac,
Many thanks for encouraging words. I enjoyed myself doing these shots - with a little patience animals make a great subject - must do more of them. Boxplayer ps The sheepdog - Pike - is very clever and, prompted by its master, Pat, will rush in and kiss the hen! I kept on missing that shot - he moves too fast so pic blurred. Maybe more control of speed would help - thinking of the Canon G10 - the nearest I dare go to a DSLR.

Boxplayer, I agree with Mac. Your first image is fascinating. Well composed and well shot. The backlighting defines your subject and gives the image a more dramatic impact. You may have found your niche -- professional farm animal photographer.

Really nice image and fine series.
