towhee checkin' me out

This is a discussion on towhee checkin' me out within the Animals and Birds forums, part of the PHOTO GALLERIES category; caught this little towhee flitting around the brambles at the edge of my back yard this afternoon... he spotted me and seemed a bit non-plussed ...

    caught this little towhee flitting around the brambles at the edge of my back yard this afternoon... he spotted me and seemed a bit non-plussed that i was taking his photo... the shutter had barely clicked on this shot when he took off. apparently he was camera-shy... 40D, 400mm, 1/200 @ f/5.6

    Great shot! I love the detail and colors. This one is worthy of framing. You're right the rufous-sided towhee is a bit camera shy. I cant even get to the door before they take off. I will get a shot one of these days.

    He's actually turned around to look at you- I didn't know they were that flexible.

    Great shot! I have a few of a cardinasl that would not leave me alone...he sat in my hand while I filled the feeder, and then I went in and got the camera and he came right back to me! so did a little sparrow!
