Bob - my thoughts are with you mate - I lost my first pet (a border collie when I was 13 years old) - broke my heart. It took me over 40 years before I would have another when that black and white furball walked into my life.

You know where I am if you want anything - I feel for you.

Update, he is now back home and looking a lot better. Obviously after such an op he is still a bit sore. He is eating and wagging his tail . I'm a lot happier now and very relieved he's still with us.

Many thanks to everyone for your kind comments and thoughts.
Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words "I have a cunning plan" marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
