Last evening I went down to my favorite spot on the river to check it out, because we got almost 6 inches of rain over the last several days. Got there, parked, got out, grabbed my tripod and bag and headed for the dock. It was under water!

Since I didn't have my swim fins, I turned to head back to my truck, when this little guy landed on one of the mirrors.

I'm thinking - he'll fly away as soon as I get close, but he actually hung out and let me chase him around the truck a few times. He stopped for a second to check out my kit...

...but the longer I watched, I realized what he was doing was playing with the mirrors. He'd land on the mirror...

...and then start flapping furiously as he checked himself out in the mirror, before landing on top, looking around and then starting over.

All taken handheld with the Sigma 150 at f/2.8, various shutter speeds. Thanks for looking.

Oh! Dane, I really enjoyed this series of pics. How cute is this lil fella!

So glad you got these. The DOF that lens provides is great. I love how he was "checking out your gear." He was like "oh, the D80! Nice gear!! Does it come in my size?"

For some reason I find birds so facinating and i love when they are caught in photos with their lil beaks open like the are talking.

Seeing this lil guy makes me miss my bird Larry.
